2020 Election ‘glitches’ from various states
Much scrutiny has been applied to 2020 presidential election after thousands of claims of fraud have been made. One curious aspect of the election are the “glitches” that occurred in the vote tallies submitted through the Edison vote tabulation software, which feeds election data to ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC.
Below are plots of data from the Edison system the morning after the November 3rd election in several swing states. Each plot is an instance in which there was a vote deduction from Trump, Biden or the 3rd party in the data.
This raises serious questions about the integrity of the systems. Why do these reporting glitches occur? Do they reflect changes in vote counts? Are they intentional. Why do they generally favor one candidate?
One analysis points to the data systems maintaining a specific percentage of total votes. When votes come in that push a given candidate over that threshold, the total is subsequently reduced to put it in line with the desired artificial percentage:
